Simple Summer Report

Well, it is only half way through June and despite some of the other crazy transitions we have been going thru, Heath and I decided we are so glad we made the decision to just "roll with it" this summer.

So far because we have not had much on the books we have been able to:
*Spend A LOT of time at our local YMCA outdoor pool.
*A day in Minneapolis exploring
*Go camping for a night at William O'Brien State Park with our good friend Tommy
*Go the WBL parade with The Katuskys
*Go out with the girls
*Read books on our patio in the evening
*Plan a trip with our dear friends (Paul and Kari) to their company cabin next weekend

It has been fun to get the "what are you doing tonight" phone calls and just roll with it. I love that our house is in constant summer mode: tennis racquets laying by the door, flip flops at each entrance and our swim suits constantly drying. In several conversations in the last days, we have talked about how much we love living in MN and how much it has to offer within 60 minutes of where we live.

Heath is loving his new job as a pastor. It is definitely a transition for him, but he is truly enjoying getting to know so many new people and get in his groove at the office.

Brevin is enjoying being at home during the summer. We are finding some new books and learning letters (thanks Marlene for this fun way to learn!). His very favorite (and mine too) cartoon on PBS Kids is Sid the Science Kid, he even has his own echo microphone. He challenged me to a tennis game this weekend, his skills have drastically improved since last summer. He is consistently keeping his racket off the ground and hitting the ball back to me 50% of the time. As much time as possible is spent barefoot outside!!

Rowan is 8 weeks!!!! My how time flies. This sent me into a slight panic, which then resulted in me remembering to be thankful for this time, each and every moment with him. He is weighing in at 14lbs on our scale. His smile is "ginormous" and he tells us a lot of stories with his chatter.

As for me, well, work starts up again in 4 weeks from today. This time has zoomed right on by. I plan to really enjoy time with the boys, be outside and be with friends as much as I can. I have enjoyed reading A LOT of books during this time and getting some things done around the house.

Well, another long post, I have to get in the groove of posting smaller more frequently. Don't forget to call spur of the moment...:)
