Hey there everyone,
Long time, no post... As the new year has already been clipping by, we have been reflecting on the ways in which we are generous, as well as what ways we need to be more generous. There are so many different ways through which someone can be generous. Some are very giving of their time through volunteer work, others are generous with their money, and some others are generous with their wisdom... Some are TOO generous in this category... I am sure you can think of a few people off the top of your head.
Jill and I really stepped up in our volunteer efforts in 2007, and are looking forward to continuing in those efforts, and hopefully adding a few new ones as 2008 continues onward. We did a lot of ushering at church, I have been spending my Wednesday nights with the Senior High ministry. Jill also joined me in some ushering and has done some work in the children's area at church as well. What we hope to add in 2008, is some more volunteer time outside of our church. Jill is looking to hopefully get involved with the Ronald McDonald House and I think I will try to do a few things with Junior Achievement through work this year.
What we really feel God prompting us to step up our generousity in for 2008 is also with our finances and resources. After a few months of the 2008 budget under our belts, we are looking to increase our giving to church and we also want to try to be more intentional about having food or snacks on hand in the car for less fortunate people we come across along the road.
So, my question to all of you is where do you feel the need to be more generous? Feel free to add comments to this post, or vote on the new survey on this page. We hope all is well with all of you. God Bless!

What a great post Heath! I am so excited to have been challenged by this especially in the last few weeks in various ways.
Delivering the games today to the RMH was such a treat! To think 30+ smiles will happen because of our family and friends and Brevin's 2nd year of life is WAY COOL!
One thing that has really stuck with me this last couple of weeks is spontaneous giving and siezing opportunities. I need to be better at this in my daily life. This can come in so many forms, but the easiest is a smile or a hello to a perfect stranger, especially perfect strangers that might look like they need it the most.
I am super excited to be challenged in this way and to hear from our family and friends how they are giving. :)
Nice post Heath! It has left me with some deep reflection and thought! This is something I struggle with every year but don't take the intiative to make something happen. Between this post and watching The Big Give - I am inspired! I am going to take some more time to reflect and get back to you on it for sure.
