1st Birthdays

Brevin is officially over the age of 1! My how time flies! As we were cleaning up party plates and hats a close friend asked me, "Are you emotional about Brevin turning 1?" I could honestly say at that moment that I really wasn't, I was reflective about the last year and all that has happened in our lives, but not emotional. If she would have asked me at 5:23 this morning when I was lying wide awake in my bed thinking about what had just happened a few short hours ago, the answer would have been a tear filled, "Yes, I am very emotional about it!" It hit me this morning what occurred yesterday, our sweet little baby is venturing down a whole new path of toddler hood. There is no turning back now! The party was fun to plan and pull off (with a lot of help), but it really did mark a new era. We are so thankful for the family and friends that bundled up to join us in celebrating this last year and all of the memories that have happened since February 4, 2006. We all re-lived our own childhoods by playing games such as pin the tail on the cow, animal sounds bingo (led by Jill and Heath...you should really ask Heath to do his dragon sometime!) and it isn't a party without a pinata! Brevin laughed at us whacking a cow with a stick and looked in amazement as so many people sang to him and him alone. He won't remember this day like we will, but there were 3 still cameras and one video camera that captured the mark of this new era (Check out the new pics on the shutterfly link:). Brevin is officially one year and one day old...what will happen in the next year? Nobody knows, but one thing is for sure...we are ready for the ride!
