Good to be home...

Well, as Jill shared, I was off to the City of Angels this week. Wells sent me out for a work conference at Disney Land, which provided an opportunity to have some fun in the area. I spent a couple of extra days out there with four of my other co-workers whooping it up in LA. We spent some time at the walk of fame seeing all of the sidewalk stars, checked out the Tonight Show taping on Tuesday afternoon, and then headed over to Molly Malone's. For those of you who don't know it, Flogging Molly (My favorite band), started at Molly Malone's in the 90's, so this was very exciting for me. The pub really wasn't anything to crazy, but it proved to be a very good time. We had a few drinks, some pizza, and some good conversation.

On Wednesday it was off to Disney Land, where I heard many of our corporate leaders speak and got the opportunity to hear John Stumpf, our current COO, and probably future CEO speak on the "State of Company" and where Wells is going to be heading in the coming years. He was a fantastic speaker, and it was refreshing to hear where the company is heading. We also were fortunate enough to spend some time with some of Disney's facilitators from the Disney Institute to give us a fresh look at Customer Service (since they are the masters of it, truly), and got some behind the scenes insight into what they do to create the magical environment that each of the parks has to offer.

The week was fun, but when it came down to today... I could not have been happier to be home. As Jill mentioned, it is amazing how quickly you start to miss the special someones in your life when you are away. I am very fortunate to have such a loving and supporting wife and a happy and healthy almost one year old (I am holding out on this until he is truly one next weekend). The smiles on their faces when I walked through the door tonight made my heart melt instantly and gave me a sense of peace knowing that I had made it home safe and sound.

Until next time...
