It was about February that I also decided to work on the discipline of consistent prayer and figured what better time than while I was working out on the bike/treadmill/elliptical machines? So I casually posted on Facebook asking if anybody had any prayer requests. I took those requests and combined them with those in my life that I knew needed prayer. At first it started off in typical Jill fashion with lists of people and their requests on note cards (I know-SHOCKING!). I found myself closing my eyes the first few times, but that did not bode well for my balance on the machines or the fact that I am a major klutz. One of the Facebook prayer requests stuck out to me as it was from a classmate of mine that I have not seen since our all night graduation party over 10 years ago. I thought it was cool he was participating and followed up with him to see how things he had requested were progressing. He updated me and said that if I was still willing, he had more requests. Suddenly somebody I haven't seen or talked to in over 10 years and I were connecting through Facebook because we were both followers of Christ and needed prayer. It was completely unexpected, but so awesome to see how God was pulling us together to meet in this season of our lives. Heath and I have been able to pray for his health, his marriage/being a dad, the new ministry he is working in and some of the kids he is now leading. I have loved every update and opportunity to engage in conversation with him. And who says Facebook is a waste of time??
When I started out in December, I never would have guessed I would be racing to my little Snap Fitness location, cranking on the worship tunes and looking forward to not only exercising, but also having this holy time with God lifting up virtual and in real life friends in prayer. What a blessing it has been!
Have your had a cool Facebook reconnect? Do you have any prayer requests I can add to my note cards?

Ahh, our pastor preached about 'signs' last week and low and behold, here's another one from the Vosberg View for the Kirby Krew!
I was just doing a networking group meeting today about linkedin and someone said that "facebook is a waste of time."
I so disagree and your post today helps prove that...I have many cool FB stories and one of them is being connected to your family via internet!
Keep up the good work with the working out-you can do it!
Wow Jill, awesome! I can't pray during workouts, it's too hard for me to concentrate on the prayer. But I do like the worship music. One time I was listening to my favorite worship song on the treadmill at the Y and I couldn't help but shut my eyes. Yep, totally fell off the treadmill. Anyway, congrats on the weight and prayer time.
