A new little nephew!

Ahhhh! It is getting so close now, the month our new little Alaskan nephew will be born!!!

My brother Adam and my sister-in-law Emili have been married for just over 16 months. They have had a rough year when it has come to pregnancy, but all is well with this little guy and Em. He has had many names since conception: Macgyver. Danger. Roscoe. Link. Now the latest...Diego. I am not sure if any of these will actually be his name, but nonetheless I will love him all the same! Having them be in Alaska during this exciting time is sometimes a bit hard as I would love to rush to hospital once we got word, bring a meal or come over and hold the little guy while Em naps. But it is what it is. So we phone, text, email and now video chat! So thankful for technology that will bridge the gap of miles, mountains and time zones.

Adam and Em, I look forward to now being in this same phase: parenthood. I am excited for you to hold him for the first time, for the love that bursts out of your chest and for the laughter and joy he will bring. It isn't always so rosy with late nights, constant feedings and hormones, but we have technology to keep us connected at whatever hour of the day. I can't wait to meet my new little nephew!

At my mom's request, she wanted me to scan some baby pictures of Adam so once the little guy arrives we can evaluate who he looks like. I have to say, I love this task! Going back and looking through old photos...it is definitely a trip down memory lane.

Okay Jill, I'm going to have to get a scanner so I can scan some old photos of myself. I think we were twins. You had a picture up (I think on fb?) of yourself and it looked exactly like my 3rd grade picture. Now this first one of you holding your brother looks exactly like me. Even now! And in the one of him on his tummy I can see both of your boys. Congrats on being an auntie!

Small world - my BIL lives in Alaska! It's hard to be so far away from family isn't it?
