Christmas Tradition #4: Santa Time

This could be my favorite tradition yet! Downtown White Bear Lake does it up well during the Christmas season. We start our day with a yummy carmel roll from Keys. Then the local paint store hosts Santa. It is glorious! He has a real beard, he takes time to talk to the kids and there isn't an obnoxious line or workers pressuring you to buy their picture for $19.99-in fact the picture they take gets sent to the local drug store and you get one for FREE!!! I KNOW!!! CRAZY!!! They also offer free carriage rides which tops off the day. I am thankful we live in a community that has a downtown to eat, shop and have fun.

Santa time was quite comical. We didn't quite know what to expect with Brevin's fear issues as of late. He is scared of Veggie Tales, but apparently gets so giddy excited about Santa he could hardly contain himself. He did a lot of peeking while the other kids had their turn, waved and even yelled, "Hi Santa, it is me Brevin!" When it was his turn, he ran and jumped up onto his lap and proceeded to tell him that he wants a "big train." He definitely was all smiles on this morning!
