Monday started off the transition with him getting dressed when Jill put him into his Thomas the Train undies (which he was very excited about). On the way to Tami's, they made a special stop and picked donuts as his breakfast of champions to celebrate the change. Tami did a great job of making it a special day for him and introduced him to his positive reinforcement (stickers!) for his efforts. This week would not have gone as well if we would not have had Tami there to get him through the long mornings or without her wisdom and experience with this undertaking.
I got the message from Jill to call him over my lunch on Monday, which I did. He could hardly contain himself because he was so excited to share the news with me that he had just "dropped the kiddies off at the pool." It was one of those moments I will cherish forever hearing the excitement and sense of pride that he had in his voice. It was almost as if he knew how proud and impressed I would be to hear the news.
That evening, Jill got adventurous and took him to Becky's wedding shower (which most would call her crazy to do on day one of potty training), but being the rock star mom that she is, it went off without any issues and he came home dry that night. In order to encourage this along, at the end of the night he got to choose a new book from the shopping cart of prizes which again made him very excited. The remainder of the week has come and gone, and every day he has remained dry. Somehow he has survived daddy asking him every 10 minutes if he has to go or not, and has gotten really good about asking to go when he needs to do so.
This last week has been quite the adventure through all of this, and thankfully we are off to a tremendous start. We are so proud of Brevin and how quickly he has caught on to the change. Once he gets another week under his belt, then we might look at trying an overnight in the big boy pants to see how he does with it. We will keep you posted as we continue to venture down this exciting new path, but for right now we ask that you pray for Brevin to be able to stay on the big boy path and to remain accident free.
Take care!
Heath

Good Job Brev!!!
I love the phrase...."dropping the kids off at the pool." Or however it goes. That is so funny. I await those exciting moments. Sounds like he's doing great!
