The world could use some more of this...

Hoppy Easter everyone!!!!

Well, so far the weekend is off to a great start for our family. With Jill needing to be at church all morning tomorrow, and then go to see family from there, we decided to celebrate Easter this Saturday morning as an immediate family. Last night, Brevin and I sat down to write the Easter bunny a letter (we had to let him know where the eggs were so that he could hide them), and Brevin went to bed eager for the morning to come (despite the fact he stayed up until 11:00 or so).

We awoke (eventually), and we were excited to find that the Easter bunny had come and left us a letter. We went on our egg hunt and Brevin found all of the eggs. He also found his Easter basket which was full of fun treats. After we got done with our Easter egg hunt and had just a couple of treats, it was off to breakfast.

We got to Key's Cafe in White Bear and got a table. We were enjoying our breakfast appetizer of a tasty caramel roll and had just got our actual food when one of the servers came over to our table. She proceeded to inform us that the couple who had been sitting at the table next to us had covered our bill. :) She stated that they thought we were a nice little family and that they wanted to help make our Easter special.

There are many ways to make someone's day, and it is amazing how such a simple, relatively inexpensive gesture can really give a person that warm-fuzzy feeling on the inside. The Vosberg family will be watching for our opportunity to pay it forward yet again, and while we look for our opportunity, we would like to challenge you to do the same... If you are needing some ideas of things you can do, here are a few suggestions (but feel free to come up with your own as well!):

Pay for someone's gas at the pump
Buy someone's meal (and maybe even throw in desert)
At the movies, pay for a couple's tickets as well, a few people back (that way you can remain anonymous
Get someone's coffee for them
Clean someone's windshield for them

We hope you will take us up on this challenge. It is amazing how good it feels to do something good for someone else. The big caviat is that you remain entirely anonymous (and that includes sharing what you did with family and friends-it is much better when you do it just for the sake of doing it and not your own recognition). I hope you have fun with this assignment!!!!

If you want to see some really cool "random acts of kindness" examples, check out the website labeled "SSSSH" to the left. It is quite inspiring! :)

YES! For anybody wondering, I did tear up with emotion when the server told us what was happening. I was in sheer amazement at the giving heart others have. IT INSPIRED ME! INSPIRED! MAN! I want to do a cart wheel still due to how much this act meant to me. :) Jill

That is AWESOME! I know that you two have done the same thing before. It is a good reminder of what the recieving end feels like and an encouragement to bring that feeling into someone else's life. Thank you for sharing this!! :)
