Life Changes

Here I sit... Preparing for an interview tomorrow... Trying to figure out what I want to say... How do I say it??? How do my past experiences relate to this new position??? And above all... Am I ready for the change???

As most of you are probably aware of... Life has been good for the Vosberg Family the last several months... We sold our house... Found an awesome place to rent... Have started making some headway on our financial goals... Jill got a job at church... She worked really hard... And starts her new position next Monday, the 4th. (In case I haven't shared it with any of you directly, MY WIFE ROCKS!!! Proud, is only a start to describing my current feelings of her).

We are definitely on the upswing and are very grateful for all that has been happening as of lately. Which begs the question... Why have things started to change for the Vosbergs? Some would chalk it up to luck... others to shear coincidence... As for us, we would tell you that it has a lot to do with our change in perspective to life. Over the course of the past couple of years, we have been working hard to put God at the center of our lives. We have done a lot of pruning lately, as well as a lot of soul searching about what God is prompting us to do. Although some of the decisions we have had to make as of lately have been tough, we have been choosing the path of obedience more frequently. And God has honored our perseverance and faith in following His promptings through the number of blessings that I listed at the start of this post.

The other thing that we feel has been of great assistance to us has been the idea of being more transparent and honest with those close to us in life. We have found that regardless of what challenge we may be facing, the more we open up about it, the easier the challenge seems to be.

My question to you is, regardless of where you are at with faith, what is going on in your life that you want us to be aware of? Or, when have you had successes with overcoming challenges in life?

Until next time...

Heath

Hey Heath -

I really appreciated what you had to say in your post, and it's funny because this upcoming weekend Jason Anderson will be teaching on the importance of putting God at the center of your life.

What I've found personally is that if I don't put God at the center, the plans I have in place don't really bring peace and satisfaction. When they are my plans and not God's, I miss out. And yet, when I put God at the center and trust in him, I realize that my plans were too wimpy, my dreams were much smaller than what God had in store.

Not to say that God's plans are easiest - usually they're not - but the outcome of submitting yourself to doing things God's way rather than your own way brings far more joy and meaning to life.

So thanks again - your post really hit me as a good reminder to evaluate my priorities, and it's great to hear what you're learning through it all.
