Well...we are going for 2.0 this season. 1.0 was extremely local and Rowan's first time. It definitely had its highs (dinner with family and small group) and lows (being stalked by a skunk). But for our maiden voyage in a tent (we have camped with friends the last few summers in their pop-up) it wasn't bad enough to throw the towel in. Through the tense moments of trip 1.0 we just kept saying, "We are so out of practice. We need to get back in the groove. It will get better." Let's hope so.
Trip 2.0 is seeming to shape up a little better prepared.
We are of the adventurous kind over here at The Vosbergs and aren't totally sure where we will land (no reservations), but it will probably be a new to us Minnesota State Park. We have our eye on a couple, we will see which way the wind blows us tomorrow.
While the tasks at hand at the beginning of our day today seemed never ending, I am glad to say that all the food is shopped for and prepped (such a HUGE difference when camping with kids), the gear is ready to be loaded and clothes have been packed.
The forecast looks to be about perfect for camping (in my opinion)...cool and sunny.
I look forward to spending unplugged adventure explorer time with my boys and quiet time by the fire with my husband reading or playing cards.
P.S. In case you are wondering...there will be hiking with Rowan in the pack as our Shred replacement each day. I also put a high value on unplugging during these trips therefore I will miss 2 days from the #Septblogathon. See you on the flip side!
